Strategic thinking, in the context of an organization, is the process of developing ideas, either individually or in teams, to determine a course of action. It is the ability to see the enterprise in its totality, to spot the trends, understand the competitive landscape, and see where the business needs to go and to lead into the future. Indeed the 21st century is characterized by rapid change and complexities. Consequently, strategic thinking is no longer a skill required only in the board room. More than ever before, it is important for team members and team leads to think in a way that anticipates, prepares and puts their organization in a position to exploit future opportunities or avoid future threats. Organizations must therefore equip their people with the skills that stimulate environmental awareness, big- picture thinking and execution abilities. It is critical that the process from ideation to execution is completed in the shortest possible time as the world of business is faster paced today than ever before. At the end of the course, participants would have learnt how to think strategically, how to apply relevant thinking concepts and move from ideation to execution.
